TAPPET COVER RACING
VW Tappet Cover Racing is coming to two major events in Queensland
this year.
The first opportunity for you to test your VW Tappet Racing skills will be at
the Volkswagen Drivers Club of Qld’s Action Day,
on Sunday 14th September at Regent Park, Cannon Hill in Brisbane. Then at VW
Warwick on Saturday October 4th,
if you didn’t get enough of a fix on the track during the day, keen VW Tappet
racers will have another opportunity for
speed thrills in the evening following the dinner in the corporate marquee.
Entry to the VWDCQ VW Tappet Racing is free, and at VW Warwick,
it is included as part of your weekend gate pass.
No prior registration for the VW Tappet racing is required, and prizes are awarded
for winners in adult and children classes,
along with prizes for Best Designed and Most Unique VW Tappet Racer.
Racing will be conducted on a specially prepared track under strict racing guidelines, and serious behaviour will not be tolerated!!
The Requirements:
• Only VW Aircooled Tappet Covers
• Maximum length 400mm
• 4 wheels of max. diameter 170mm each
• Max. width (wheel to wheel) 200mm
• Maximum height 200mm
• Maximum weight 5 kilos
• Wheels cannot protrude past the front or rear of the Tappet cover body
• Tappet cover body may be modified - drilled, bolted, welded, glued, etc, but
it must remain essentially a VW Tappet cover
• No motors, pushing or other means of propulsion permitted
• Have heaps of fun!!!
