The National Australian Bug-In

A brief history...

The 1st Bug-In was organised by the then Volkswagen Australasia Pty Ltd in Albury, NSW, on the Australia Day Weekend, 1970.
The Bug-In consisted of a race meeting at Hume Weir race circuit, a grass motorkhana on the banks of the Murray River, a car trial and a social trip to Falls Creek snowfields in northern Victoria. This has been the one and only Bug-In, (so far) which has featured snow.
The Bug-In has been hosted by the relevant state based VW Clubs over the Easter weekend ever since, moving from State to State in an anti-clockwise direction.

Bug-In 2010

The host state for the 2010 Bug-In is Queensland, and the event is hosted by the Volkswagen Drivers Club of Queensland Inc.

The location we’ve chosen for Bug-In 2010 is the beautiful town of Stanthorpe, in the Granite Belt region of Southern Queensland. The Granite Belt region is known for its boutique wineries, fruit growing, arts and crafts and multiple other tourist attractions... the programme we have planned adds some Volkswagen-based fun to an already great mix.

The first step in attending Bug-in 2010 is to print out and complete the Registration Form and Accommodation Form and return to the club. We’ll be sending more information about the attractions and activities in the coming weeks, or check out the following websites for extra info:

Bug-In Central

Bug-in 2010 Accommodation Booking

Bug-in 2010 is being hosted in the town of Stanthorpe, located in the Granite Belt region of Southern Queensland.

There are numerous accommodation options in and around Stanthorpe, however the Top of the Town Tourist Village has been chosen as “Bug-in Central” and we think it will be an excellent place to base the events from.

There are plenty of details at www.topoftown.com.au

To try and foster the traditional social atmosphere of Bug-in, we’d love to have as many people as possible staying at Top of the town... so we’ve pre-booked a large portion of the village. Bug-in Accommodation is for a minimum of three nights - Friday 2nd April to Sunday 4th April inclusive - however we can arrange extra days prior to or following Bug-in.

If you’d like to stay at Bug-in Central, please just fill out the Accommodation Form with your preference and return it to the details below, and we’ll be in touch to confirm your booking and arrange payment.

Please do not send accommodation monies until we've confirmed your booking.
