Inside a Front Axle

The following photos were taken of a right hand drive early front axle.
It is a king (link) pin front axle with 6 torsion bars - possibly '60 - '66.
This axle was given to me by my good friend "Brad".

If you have any queries about anything here email me - Grahame

Torsion bars removed.
Normally, grease will only sit in the space between the torsion arm and the axle tube as shown in the image. However in a well used (worn) axle like this one the entire cavity of the axle tube was full of grease.
